We Play Till Dark is a trade name of Smith & Wilson LLC. This page explains, in plain language, how this site makes money and what that does — and doesn’t — mean for you.
What affiliate links are
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase, the retailer pays us a small commission for referring you. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires us to tell you this clearly — which we’d do anyway, because it’s your right to know how any recommendation is funded. You’ll see a one-line disclosure at the top of every article that contains affiliate links, linking back to this page.
It never changes your price
Using our affiliate links costs you nothing extra. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you click our link or type the store’s address yourself.
Our opinions are our own
Commissions do not decide what we recommend. We choose topics first and look for affiliate programs second, and we turn down or simply never pursue plenty of products that wouldn’t serve a youth sports family. Where a guide is research-based — meaning we haven’t personally tested the products — we say so plainly in the article itself. We do not claim hands-on testing we haven’t done, and we do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage.
Programs we may participate in
Our affiliate relationships may include:
- Amazon Associates — as an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
- Sporting goods retailers and youth sports brands, through their own affiliate programs or affiliate networks.
This list may grow over time, and this page will be updated when it does. The principle stays the same regardless of the program: commissions never change your price, and they never buy our opinion.
