What We Recommend

A short list, on purpose. Everything on this page is something we believe is genuinely worth a sports family’s money — and the list is small because earning a spot here is supposed to be hard.

We’re a research-based site. We recommend from fit — how well something solves a problem we write about every week — plus the maker’s reputation and terms. We have not hands-on tested everything on this page, and we won’t pretend otherwise. If that ever changes, we’ll say so in plain words.

Transparency: the links on this page are affiliate links. If you buy through them, We Play Till Dark may earn a commission or referral bonus at no extra cost to you — that’s what keeps this site free and ad-light. Nobody pays to be listed here. Full details on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Skylight Calendar — the family schedule, finally visible

If your house runs on a mosaic of practices, games, carpools, and snack duties that mostly lives in one parent’s head, this is the problem the Skylight Calendar is built for: one screen in the kitchen that everyone can see, instead of four apps nobody checks.

The short version

The Skylight Calendar is a plug-in touchscreen that displays all of the family’s calendars in one place and keeps them synced over Wi-Fi — it handles chore charts too. We haven’t used one ourselves; it’s on this page because a calendar the whole household actually sees is the single best fix for the schedule chaos we write about.

Lifepro — recovery gear for the grown-ups

The players usually just need water and a snack. It’s the adults — the coach-parent who threw batting practice all Saturday, the volunteer who ran drills two nights straight — who carry it into Sunday. Lifepro makes a broad range of home fitness and recovery equipment at family-budget prices: massage guns, foam rollers, massage balls, vibration plates, and more.

The short version

Solid recovery tools without boutique pricing. Our link gets you 5% off your Lifepro order. We describe gear by what it is and what it’s for — we leave the health promises to your doctor.

If you buy through our link we may earn a commission.

Why is this list so short?

Because it’s new, and because we’d rather have two entries we stand behind than twenty we don’t. As we vet more programs — team gear, training aids, coaching tools — the ones that clear the bar will show up here.
